Monday 15 September at 7.15 pm. Liberal thought meets bioethics and philosophy: an interview with Luisella Battaglia and Dino Cofrancesco.
Luisella Battaglia. A philosopher and bioethicist, she explores the boundary between ethics and everyday life. She teaches at the University of Genoa and is president of the Italian Institute of Bioethics. She has written essays on biopolitics, animal rights and moral complexity. Her passionate voice reminds us that philosophy is not mere academic theory, but a tool for living with conscience and courage.
Dino Cofrancesco. A sociologist and historian of ideas, he is Professor Emeritus at the University of Genoa. He has explored the complexities of liberal thought, populism and democracy. The author of numerous studies, including "Il mito del populismo" (The Myth of Populism), he enjoys challenging clichés with disarming clarity. His research is an invitation to rethink politics without resorting to oversimplifications.
Tuesday 16 September at 7.15 pm: Interview with Antonio Ereditato, physicist and science communicator.
One of the world’s most renowned experimental physicists, Antonio Ereditato studies the infinitely small with a passion that borders on art. A professor at the University of Bern, in his books – from "Una strana materia" (A Strange Substance) to "Il nuovo nucleare" (The New Nuclear Power) – he explains with clarity and humanity how science is both an intellectual adventure and an act of responsibility. Ereditato is convinced that physics is not just for a select few, but a shared heritage.
