On Sunday 2 April, the presentation of the fourth edition of "Chance 2023", the initiative of the foundation "Salvatore Leonessa": job opportunities with Nino Di Costanzo, Pasquale Palamaro, Tommaso Luongo, Salvatore Bianco and Riccardo Valore

Bringing the new generations closer to the world of hospitality, favouring the meeting between supply and demand in a complex phase, in which the catering segment lacks thousands of employees. A new initiative starts from Ischia, which provides for the assignment of ten scholarships for paid internships (1,000 euro per month) of three months, in the kitchen and in the dining room, at some prestigious starred restaurants in the Gulf of Naples.
The competition, named 'Chance', is now in its fourth edition and is devised and organised by the Ing. Salvatore Leonessa Foundation (www.fondazioneleonessa.it), set up to promote and foster the training of young people in the tourism sector.
It will be the symbolic place of Ischia in the world, the Aragonese Castle, which will host the presentation of the call for entries on Sunday, 2 April at 11. 00 a.m. at the Terrazza degli Ulivi: the foundation's president, Elena Leonessa, will illustrate the procedures for the competition, which this year is open to all Italian citizens, with the dual objective, she anticipates, of 'offering an opportunity to a wider range of girls and boys who aspire to a brilliant start to their careers and, at the same time, drawing attention to the excellence and possibilities of professional fulfilment that the South of our country can offer'.
These, in detail, are the chefs who have joined the initiative:

CHEF NINO DI COSTANZO, DANI' MAISON (Ischia), 2 Michelin stars

CHEF PASQUALE PALAMARO, INDACO (REGINA ISABELLA - Ischia), 1 Michelin star

CHEF TOMMASO LUONGO, IL MIRTO (BOTANIA - Ischia), 1 Michelin green star

CHEF SALVATORE BIANCO, IL COMANDANTE (ROMEO HOTEL -Naples), 1 Michelin star

CHEF RICCARDO VALORE, L'OLIVO (CAPRI PALACE - Capri), 1 Michelin star

Participation in the competition is reserved for young people graduating or graduating in the 2022/23 school year from the Professional Institutes of State for Food and Wine and Hospitality Services and for those aged between 18 and 26 years, resident in Italy, who have work experience in the catering field. The winners will have the opportunity to grow professionally under the guidance of important chefs who will try to pass on to them not only technical knowledge, but also their passion and creativity.

The Fondazione Ing. Salvatore Leonessa bears the name of one of the island's tourism pioneers, a far-sighted entrepreneur: it was set up in 1998 thanks to his wife Lina with the aim of spreading and realising her husband's values and ideals, including the promotion of the education of the most deserving young people. The announcement of the competition, how to participate and all information on the initiative can be found at www.fondazioneleonessa.it.
